Born and raised in the countryside near Portland, Oregon, I have always been interested in nature, art, and design. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1985. A move to San Francisco allowed me to work for Portal Publications until 1992 when I decided to expand my creative talents and begin licensing my own artwork and it has been an amazing ride since then. Collaborating with the product development teams at my licensees and creating products that are on-trend, beautiful, and functional is what I enjoy the most. Trend research is a way for me to stay up-to-date with colors, icons, and textures and incorporate them into my collections.

I have a genuine affinity for ephemera and love to go to flea markets and paper fairs to buy vintage postcards, wallpaper, and vintage prints. (450,000 pieces in my library and counting!) I import all of the scans into my computer and begin to tweak, collage, and update the vintage details while being inspired by current trends and colors. This design process results in a collection that resonates my Tina Higgins style. Then, applying those patterns to product concepts is the final step in bringing my art to life to be shared with consumers through agents MHS Licensing & my licensees.

My family means the most to me, my lifelong creative friends are the ones who inspire my creativity. I have been married to my architect husband for over 35 years, have two wonderful grown children, one is a cinematographer in Hollywood & the other is a strength & conditioning coach for swimmers. We have called Scottsdale, Arizona home for the past 28 years.

I consider myself to be very fortunate to be making a living as an artist and am deeply grateful to all those who support my work and make it possible to continue to do what I love.
