When my daughter was little, she loved playing with trains. She would meticulously build tracks in endless configurations around her playroom. Her always-growing collection of train cars would snake around her carefully designed tracks, navigating through loop-de-loops and over bridges. Equally important were all the little accessories — the characters, trees, and buildings that added to her imaginary town. My daughter’s childhood fascination with trains inspired me to create a collection that I knew she would have loved at that age. The bigger panel invites children to trace over the tracks using their toy trains and cars. I incorporate a lot of color and geometric shapes into my illustrations, aiming to make the vehicles as vibrant and playful as possible.
