Tamara grew up in the hot and colorful Caribbean island of Trinidad, where one cannot help but be influenced by the beauty of the land and the vibrancy of the multicultural population. She was raised by a father who is a skilled draftsman and a sewing, needlepointing, quilting, rug hooking mom who both encouraged constant creativity from the get-go, both at home and throughout their children's education.

Tamara has a BFA in Textiles and also studied Graphic Design and Art History, but it took a number of years for her to rediscover her love of surface patterns, when in 2011 she quickly became addicted to creating designs for fabric. While she has recently licensed a number of collections for a line of children's clothing, Spring marks her first foray into the world of being an exclusively licensed fabric designer with Michael Miller Fabrics. Tamara currently lives in Montreal with her husband and two fiercly loved little ones, from whom she derives much creative inspiration.
